Smile ACS Assessment Timeline

Hi..I wanted to post my ACS assessment timeline for everyone's information:

Applied Online: 1st August 2010 as a Software Engineer

Documents received & acknowledged by ACS: 10th August 2010

...application progress regularly updated on online tracking system by ACS....

Case Finalised: 26th August 2010 and issued with a mail tracking no.(yep the assessment was pretty fast - in just two weeks)

Letter received: on 2nd September 2010 and was positively accessed under Group A.

Applied from: Dubai

Personal info: Software engineer with 7 years work experience.

Application for PR (subclass 176 - sponsored by wife's sister) lodgement date: 8th Sept 2010 and attached all relevant docs online.

Medicals/Police: Not yet as it has not been requested yet.

Date CO Assigned: Not yet (Any idea when are COs assigned)?

Has anyone applied for a 176 application after 1st July 2010?

Anyone from Dubai here needs tips about applying to ACS? Please PM me.

Thanks

Depending on backlog and because the states SMPs are not yet up and running, you could get lucky with getting a CO within a few months but no real way of knowing.
Re the ACS assessment, there are regular threads on here with people asking various questions so feel free to put some information on the forum so that may benefit all.

Just reread your post and you have a sponsorship by a relative and don't need state sponsorship, all the best.

correct...Wanderer meant to say that since SMPs are not yet released, I could possibly be assigned a CO quicker as state sponsorship applicants have a higher priority than mine!

Wanderer: Would you know what type of legal translation attestation do they accept as my marriage cert is not in English!

thanks

hello,
congratulations "planningtomigrate", I have submitted my documents to ACS on 2nd sep using a Lawyer in UAE as well, but since 10th sep and the ACS website it giving me access denied error message.
My occupation is System Analyst, so I wish it gets completed soon.

Anyway do you know what is next professionally? what documents do I need to prepare after that with approximate time-line?

Can't wait to get the visa.
cheers,

What I said is very clear and meant to say nothing else though your interpretation is correct.
Translations need to be done by official translators as authorised within whatever country is involved.
Or alternately, if they do not exist you may have to seek one in Australia to deal with.

I'd suggest you learn a little about the process starting @ Department of Immigration & Citizenship and hope a lawyer from the UAE knows what they are doing if you are going to rely on one.

I think you may find on their site something nominally like 12 weeks.
Be patient for immigration processing could be tenfold that.
