overstaying australian WH visa by 2 weeks

Hi,

My working holiday visa runs out at the start of December but I wanted to stay on for another 2 weeks so that I'm back home just before Christmas.

Could anyone tell me how strict they are on people who overstay this length of time and what the repercussions are if any? Also are there any charges if I where to do this?

thanks

It'll certainly not be a good way to win friends and influence people and your influence could range from being chastised at the immigration check with a do not bother to apply for any tourism visas for a few years block put on your passport that other countries could see too or being pulled into an office into an office for an unfriendly chat with same result or as a result of all the asylum seeker problems at the moment and if enough people are having too bad a time of it, you could get lodged in a detention centre to languish for a while prior to fronting court and getting not only a hefty fine but also having to fork out a couple of hundreddollars a day for accommodating you at less than one star quality.
The KISS approach is just do not be so stupid and why not head over to Asia which is cheap and a can offer some adventure in a different culture.
