Questions on 485 (subsequent entrant) and health check result

Hi everyone,

I have some questions on my visa application.

I am currently holding 485, my wife submitted 485 (subsequent entrant) on 12 july, no case officer has been allocated so far(until yesterday 21 Sep), is it normal? Anyone knows how long it takes?

Also, I finished my health check in Medibank on 23 Aug in Sydney branch, I still cannot recevie the sealed envelop from Medibank, is it normal as well? I rang Medibank yesterday, they said the envelop had been sent, and they forwarded the electronic copy of the result to IMMI already, so, they don't keep any paperwork... and they can't do anything on it.

I am currently in 485 now, my original plan is that once my wife's visa has been granted, I will lodge my 885 visa. Now, I can't tell how long it takes for my wife's visa. So, I may submit my 885 now, and then sponsor my wife in the future when my 885 is granted.

My immigration agent told me that there is a shortcut for applying 885 visa called decision ready case application, but I need complete document when I lodge my 885, so that my visa will be processed shortly. The thing is that I got all the document done, except the health check result. Anyone knows is it necessary to have the sealed envelop?

thank you!

You could have a look at the service standards on Client Service Charter for a guide but bear in mind that processing times can vary significantly because of quite a few factors and members of the forum have been posting frequently of late in regard to times being longer than what they have been in the past.
If you also look at the information provided in respect to doing medical examinations you will see that it is standard practice for health examination results to be forwarded to Immi.

Thanks Wanderer,

A case officer had been allocated to us last week. My wife had apply for police check as well, as requested by the case officer.

In the meantine, the only thing I can do is to wait. All the required doc are prepared, hopefully it goes well.

rgds.
