Showing my income as 820 sponsor

Hi all,

After submitting online 820 (I'm the sponsor) , I don't see I'm my list of documents to upload, any proof of my income. Do they want this as part of the application? I only just realised to sponsorship online form didn't ask me specifics about my income. Did I miss something?

Yeah I noticed that as well so I haven't uploaded anything to prove my income - no pay slips and no tax returns..
As far as I'm concerned if they don't ask for it anywhere then I don have to supply it..and I can't see anywhere that they ask for these items for the online visa. I find this quite humorous given my partner is British and we couldn't get a UK partner visa if we wanted to because of the strict financial requirements they have.

We did agree to support them in applying for the visa so maybe that's enough??

Maybe! Just weird. They had a question on what is your source of income and the choices were things like paid employment and I forget the others as they didn't apply, but I was expecting further questions. Oh well.... Wait and see if it's requested later I guess!

hello!
i will be filing onshore partner's visa subclass 820/801. i am PMV sub class 300 visa holder. i noticed that the form 40sp for my dependent is not listed in the 820 lists. Do i need to submit it too even if it is not listed in the lists of docs to submit?

Hi Kangaroo!

I didn't submit any payslips or proof of income either. I believe the reason it isn't necessary is because they have now removed the assurance of support requirement, and since even centrelink benefits are adequate to sponsor, it really doesn't matter if you can prove where your income comes from. Also, you sign the declaration to support your spouse for 2 years and they now have working rights attached to the BVA so they expect the applicant themselves to find work if they need income.

Basically, I think that how much you earn has no bearing whatsoever on your eligibility to sponsor, so they have decided that proof of income is kind of redundant.
