Has anyone applied for a spouse visa in Indonesia?

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has applied for a spouse visa in Indonesia? My partner is applying for a defacto spouse visa in December. I'd just like to know if any body has any experience with the embassy in Jakarta, how long they took to process the application, and any more tips/info.

Hope to hear from someone who has applied in Jakarta!! Thanks!

Hi there,

I applied the Spouse Visa on November 1st'2010, make sure when your partner would like to apply all documents must be complete, and your partner also can get the medical assestment before you submit the application (at least 1 -3 days before submit), is easier in that way, the embassy said it may takes a while 3-5 months, can be shorter or longer, depends on your documents, some people get the interview on the phone, some have to come and get face to face interview.

Good Luck

Keizha

Hi Keizha,

Thanks for the info. We've already done the medical and police check so we can hand everything in at the one time. I checked with the embassy and they were ok with that.

Good luck with your application. Let me know when it is is processed! Have you had the interview yet?

Hi There,

How are you? Yes Its been a month after I submit the application, all good I hope, the embassy in jakarta respond me so quick and I dont need the interview, they said they satisfied with all the supporting documents, which is good news and they said I be able to comeback to Australia again visit my husband if I dont want to wait in Jakarta while the Spouse Visa being process,so I definetly to comeback to Melbourne on December,woohooo...

So, your partner submit the application yet? in Jakarta? If she confused and need to ask something, I have a friend who work at the visa application office in Jakarta.

But you have to know one thing, because now the process of the visa change, it will takes a while,so be patient

Cheers

Wow, that's great the embassy have been so efficent. Congratulations! So will you have to return to Indonesia when it is finally processed or are they allowing you to stay in Aus? If it is the later, that is great, I've never heard of that happenning before.

No He hasn't applied yet, we are in Australia now. He will apply when we go back to Indonesia just after christmas.

Thanks for all your help.

Partner Visa - Offshore

Hi,

My partner summited her application on 1/03/2012,
the application was summitted without the medical check up because according to AVAC, she should do her medical check up when the CO ask her to, is this correct or just making the process even longer????

Until now there is still no news or any contact from Australian Embassy at all.
Its been two months and i start to get worry.

Can anyone give me any suggestion or should i just be patient
Btw, I am Australian PR and been living in Australian for 13 years

Thanks

Hi EG1, there is another current thread running about visa/indonesia. Have a read and you will see our current stories. Ours was received on 19/3 and we too are still waiting for case officer/file number so we can complete medicals too. Another member who submitted theirs early feb has just had confirmation to go ahead and do medicals... so i think we just have to wait a bit longer
