Question MODL and SOL

Hi All,

I got my skills assessed by ACS in May/12 this year, as 2231-79 J2EE Specialist with 12 months experience in J2EE.

Now since the ANZSCO has replaced ACS I am not clear whether I would get MODL points.

When I checked the below occoupations-in-demand link I found my skill code corresponds to the new code 261399. But I am surprised I cannot find this code in the SOL.

I am planning to lodge my application for migration , can someone help me on my question ? Thanks in advance.

ASCO Occupation ASCO Code ANZSCO Occupation ANZSCO Code
Computing Professional specialising in J2EE *
2231-79 Software and Applications Programmers specialising in J2EE *
261399

MODL :
immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/skilled-occupations/occupations-in-demand.htm]Is Your Occupation in Demand? - Workers - Visas & Immigration

SOL:
immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/sol-schedule3.pdf

Thanks,
Sujit

There's no MODL other than for onshore transitional applications and ACS has a transitional arrangement for assessments issued in ASCO to get a ANZSCO code so they are your first port of call.
The SOL has changed and if an occupation is not on the SOL schedule #3 you will need to see if one of the states has it on an SMP list.
Have a read of new priority information via the What's New Link on Professionals and other Skilled Migrants - Workers - Visas & Immigration

Does that mean MODL is not applicable when I am going to apply from offshore/India without SMP (State Migration Plan) on General Skilled Sponsored Migration (Subclass 176 - sponsored by family relative) ?

Do I need to contact ASCO before I lodge my migration form to get skills reassessed or mapped to a new ANZSCO code?

On the MODL page I see ANZSCO code 261399(S/w and App. Prgmr Java specialization) corresponds to ASCO code 2231-79 but I cannot find this ANZSCO code in the SOL page.

Since I found both MODL and SOL at immi.gov.au and not a state website,
I was thinking MODL will contain only the skill codes in SOL. I am I wrong ?

SOL
immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/sol-schedule3.pdf
MODL
immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/skilled-occupations/occupations-in-demand.htm

Thanks,
Sujit

There is no MODL re offshore applications so forget it
Finito, Kaput, Finished!
You need an ANZSCO code Assessment for a skilled visa application
ACS have a transitional program - check their web site.
Just use the Occupations in the SOL.
