No more documents are needed from our end and they are in the process of finalising everything. I don't if I'm impatient or not but I am missing my hubby like crazy and if I could stay in Tunisia whilst waiting I would however work and study prevent me from doing that.

I also used a migration agent who was very helpful. Although I did the initial research and knew what I had to do, I was happy to use him/her as they both made the application nice and neat.

Did you have to do an interview?

I hope you receive an answer soon.

Regards
Rio
Hey Rio, our application was lodged almost the same day (ours was 24th of May 2010) and my husband is from Algeria. I'm from Perth too, but we applied in Kuala Lumpur. We didn't use an agent and I just did it all myself pretty much, aside from the stat decs.

We have just contacted a migration lawyer to try work out why it's taking so long! Husband is getting sick of not being able to work, and I'm just about to have an operation and his visa is expiring at the end of Feb.

Hi there
I don't know if I'm posting in the right thread...I'm Tunisian and I lodged a permanent residency visa in March 2010...Being WA state sponsored has made the process a little bit faster as I was assigned a case officer on 31/01/2011
When I checked my online application I found that everything is MET except the evidence of overseas qualifications and the evidence of specific work experience which are still requested…the health requirements are finalized and the overseas penal certificate is met…I’m just waiting to see that
” applicant approved”.
My question is what the average time to finalize the application? All the documents are OK and I’ve never travelled abroad so why this delay? Is there anyone here who has experienced the same situation?

Any comment would be much appreciated

Being from Tunisia, it is possible that there is an external check by ASIO that will be instigated and there is a lengthy wait of 6+ mobths for those, outside of Immi control.
