Is it a good idea to send original letters?

Hi,

Just wondering, is it a good idea to send original love letters from each other, or cards and letters from family/friends, etc (as part of evidence)? Or are copies ok? I wouldn't mind sending the originals, if I knew I was going to get them back! Will ring my local embassy on Monday, but thought I'd ask here for your experiences.

Thank you!
Kiki

Hi,
my partner and I have a baby together and I sent in photo copies of cards sent to us from my family in Australia congratulating us on the pregnancy and then on the birth. I'm pretty sure they were happy with those as legit evidence. I didn't get them certified, just photocopied them and that was it.
I wouldn't make any assumptions about them sending anything back to you. If they had to do that for everyone it could get messy, not to mention the costs depending on which embassy you are applying to. We had to apply via another country so I knew they wouldn't send anything back to me voluntarily.

they only ask for photocopies of letters, photos etc. And you keep the originals in case they are requested at interview.
