Unhappy 8 month lodgement anniversary

So, it's now 8 months since I lodged my Spouse Migration application, I'm waiting for my security assessments by ASIO. It's been 6.5 months now. My PCC expires in 3 months. Even if my visa is granted this month, we won't have time to pack, sell the house and cancel everything here. I'm thinking of just going ahead and redoing the health and PCC over again. It's mentionned in the Booklet 1 that the initial entry date can be changed before the visa is granted, but I will have to re do the health and PCC. In the meantime, I have also taken a part-time job which I assume I should mention to my CO. I'm still waiting for an update from my CO (but that was a week ago). She had personally requested an update from ASIO.

Has anyone else been in this situation? Any feedback will be appreciated.

I would at least wait on the advice of the CO and ask her about re- doing your PCC and medical for there is some scope for extension though that may not apply if you did them of your own accord rather than awaiting a request.

Thanks wonderer. Okay, I will hold off on doing the PCC and the health exam, but should I mention to her that I have accepted a temporary part time job?

I do not really think a temporary part time job is going to affect your visa processing.
