Is it you that the visa is for Bob or your wife and for whoever it is for if they are in the UK that is where the application should have been lodged.
Partner visa applications for low risk countries if to be granted have nominally been taking about 3-4 months for a complete clear application though there are many variable factors and there has been indication of late that processing times have extended by a month or so.
So your 24 WD for now would likely mean that there may have been registered but if you have sent to Australia rather than lodge it in the UK, that also would cause a delay.
If the latter is the case, you could see if you ought to be contributing to sorting that out by contacting Immi - Contact Us - Department of Immigration and Citizenship or whether you can find out where it has been sent to if that has been necessary.
Other than getting that sorted if necessary, it is more a case of being patient with the processing more than anything else and shooting of emails for you will be contacted as necessary.
