is the immigration website working?

Is anyone else experiencing problems with the Immigration website (Department of Immigration & Citizenship) ?
I'm trying to find some information on the government's AMEP (Adult Migrant English Programme) which is part of the immi website and every time I try to get on the site it says that it is unavailable. I have tried with Google Chrome, Firefox and IE for several days now. I rang global help and the lady I spoke to said she's using the site without a problem.
I wanted to use the information as part of a question to our CO but now I can't get a hold of it. Anyone else experiencing this or has my computer just gone anti-immi??!
PS - Global help also told me planning levels have changed and that all spouse visas are now taking 6-9 months. I hate it when they say that... stresses me out further!

It opens as far as Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) for me OK.

I would not think that a CO really wants to be fielding english course questions btw.

I read that the immigration officer can provide a referral letter for the applicant for AMEP which is why I wanted to address it. However I wanted to find exactly what it said before emailing. I still can't open the site.. really strange.

Can you open up Eligibility - Can I join AMEP English Classes?
And if not the following is content.
Quote:
Can I join AMEP English classes?
You may be able to learn English with the AMEP if you are:

•an adult (18 or older), and
•a migrant or refugee who is new in Australia, and
•you have been granted a permanent visa, and
•you speak little or no English.
You can study English with the AMEP for up to 510 hours or until you reach functional English, whichever comes first.

You need to join classes within three months of coming to Australia and start classes within one year.

What if I can’t join AMEP English classes?
There are other programs that may help you learn English, get a job, or study.
See: Other English Programs, Work and Study

Are English classes free?English classes are free for most eligible adult migrants.

How do I join English classes?
Service providers teach English at AMEP learning centres.

They can tell you if you can learn English with the AMEP and will find the best way for you to learn.

To find out if you can learn English with the AMEP, contact the service provider nearest to you.
See: Find English Classes
Learning English - Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) is the preceding page.

I would think that with an eligible visa, there would be some reference to english classes in the grant advice or if not it'll be just a case of showing the visa confirmation to enrol in a class.

thanks Wanderer! I'll wait and see what the grant advice says then. No idea what my laptop has against the immi website all of a sudden?!
