Online 309 De Facto Visa Application.

Hello,

My 309 visa application is ready to submit. Does anyone know if all your attached documents have to be certified when you apply online?

I'm looking forward to pressing that 'submit' button !

A.

Certification is dependent on the type of documents as per embassy checklist of the country you are applying from. Just double-check from there and you should be good to go.

On immi.gov, it is written that you should scan your certified documents but I've read somewhere that you can scan in original document as well; though, I have no reference to this.

If you are scanning an original document in colour then you do not need to have any copies certified for the online process.

This is one of the great features of the online system!

Yep, just make sure they are colour scans.

Hi Kangaroogirl, I was delighted to read your comment regarding not having to certify copies as I am currently scanning my documents before I submit my application. The problem is that the immi web pages refer to scanning certified copies for attachment. Do you know the reference that states otherwise. I don't want to submit my application and then be asked to have the documents certified. Thanks

Yes I know they say that on there but it isn't the case. I think it's just wording carried over from before the online application system started.

Mark, one of our resident migration agents has confirmed that colour scans are fine, and he lodges these applications online all the time.

There has been a lot of discussion on here about it. Have a look at the sticky thread up the top regarding tips for online applications - there's some talk in there about it. I will have a look and see if I can find a relevant post from Mark about this to ease your mind
