Visa granted!

After only 30 days, my partner's visa was granted today!! He went straight onto the 801 permanent visa which is exactly what we were hoping for. Words cannot describe how happy and relieved we both are.

Thank you so much to the people on this forum who gave so much advice. You are all amazing, and I wish you all the best and all the luck in the world.

Quick facts: my partner is from a low risk country, we have been together for over 4 and de facto for 3.5, applied online and frontloaded medical and police checks. The grant letter came from the Victoria processing centre.

Congratulations Danegirl! Wow I can't believe it, you applied same weekend as me. Didn't you apply through Brisbane office? Why would the letter come through Victoria I wonder? Or maybe I'm mistaken about Brisbane office

I think the fact that we apply online means we don't apply to a specific office? That's what I think is the most likely reason, given the fact that we do live in Brisbane.

Or, I do remember reading somewhere that all permanent visa 801 apps get processed in the Vic office - maybe our app was identified as 801 eligible and sent down there. Not sure.

Ahh perhaps that's it. Wow you must be absolutely stunned!! I haven't even put in all my 888 forms yet because a few people haven't gotten them back to me, so now I'm ringing around panicking in case they are already looking at ours!

I've been having nightmares about visas. It must be such a relief... And to have 801 immediately is just amazing, so happy for you xoxo
