Italian police check

I'm a U.S. citizen applying for a prospective marriage visa to move to Australia with my fiance, but my application has hit a bit of a snag. I was in the U.S. military and stationed in Italy for two years, which caused some confusion about whether or not I needed a background check from Italy. I was told I didn't have to, turns out I do, so now I'm trying to get that done.

I finally got my codice fiscale and it's time to submit the request to Rome for the check, so I'm wondering if anyone else had any experience with this. How long it took to get back, how you paid, if you hit any problems with it, etc. I'm mostly wondering how people paid- the instructions aren't exactly clear and seem pretty restrictive, so I'm curious how everyone else did it.

Italian police check

Hi there,
If you lived in Italy for 2 years you need the police check. There is 2 certificates that you need: Certificato generale del casellario giudiziale e Certificato dei carichi pendent.

To request this certificates you do not need the Codice fiscale, you can send the request to Procura di Roma.

You can do yourself or contact an agency that can help you.(AZ Translations services)
