Few basic questions

I'm a Polish citizen living in US, and I'm thinking about moving to Australia.
I'm very early in the planing, research process and I would like to ask few questions.
How complicated the whole process is?
Can I do it myself or do I need a lawyer?

Thank You

I'll assume it is a skilled visa you are referring to and the process is straightforward enough.
There have been many changes to the regulations of late and a few more in respect to assessment of eligibility on the way for next year and that has been confusing for those caught up in changes and the impact on priorities but for new applications the process is now reasonably well settled.
Have a look @ Workers - Visas & Immigration and when you pick the type of visa you think may suit you, say for instance either employer sponsored or independent and click on either of the top two headings, you'll get taken into a step by step selection program to guide you to the visa for your situation.
You will then have eligibility and application headings along with other general info headings and under the application section there will be a Checklist to help and reference to a Booklet.
A lot of information to absorb and many explanatory links but in studying what is involved and using the information provided as well as the Checklist to gather together documents you meed and complete an application, many do just that.
In following the second heading on the above page you will see a What's New Link and there are other links for changes having been made or proposed to be.
