Employer interview for Visa 175 / police check

Hello All,
İ am newcomer to this forum and live in France and working as an engineer. İ am planning to apply online this week for 175 visa. İ have gathered all necessary documents so far. i have some questions:

İ am working for a big company in automotive industry. Will CO during certain period the application get in direct contact with my employer and ask some questions ? İ would prefer my application stays confidential until i move to Australia.

Another question is regarding police check. İ lived in Germany and in Australia before. İ had already gathered police check from those countries in 2008 during my visa application for France after my stay in these countries. Should i renew them ? they are issued after my stay anyway.

thanks for your feedback...

I would think that the extent of checking with employers will depend on what evidence of employment you have provided and if wanting your application to remain confidential means you do not have a certificate of employment or reference on employer company letterhead included with your documents, there could be enquiries made unless you have provided alternate evidence.
Have you read the eligibility experience links for there is some fairly explicit detail of what is expected and if you do not do a complete application, what could be worse than enquiries being made is a rejection of the application.

With the police checks, if you have a police check from Australia, that ought to be fine if you have not been back here since though for the German one, it may with the EU open borders be appropriate to get a new up to date one, though if the option is offered, it may be even best to wait until requested because of the time for processing visa applications.
Likewise if you have not done a medical, it is best to wait until asked for they have only a years validity.
All documents not in english also need to be translated and a copy certified.

You may also want to take note of the priority arrangements and benefit for higher processing priority by applying for state sponsorship with a state that has your occupation on their State Migration Plan and then apply for a 176 visa.
Have a look at details via announcements on the What's New Link on Professionals and other Skilled Migrants - Workers - Visas & Immigration

thanks for quick reply.
İ have got proper reference letters from my company HR and previous ones but i did not mention what it is for. It is a very big company with thousands of employees. I dont think that it is appropriate that CO just one day calls someone in HR or my Boss and ask some specific questions. does anyone have experience ?

Regarding police check yes you are right i should renew it at least for France. İ will move to Germany in one month again. İ will apply for a new police check in Germany. İn this case should i repeat this police check for each seperate country in EU ??

Some other questions. My employer indicated my salary in my reference letter (translated to english). should i still include payslips ? i want to avoid translarions of payslips if not necessary !!

Roughly how many months should i calculate for processing time ? i do not need to hurry up actually.

Thanks in advance

The HR references on company ketterhead should be fine and things like payslips are a biy superfluous if that information is in the reference letter and in any case they do not need to be translated.
Instead of a heap of payslips if you have annual taxation certificates, that is another way of supporting your employment time.

You only need police checks for countries in which you have resided for more than 12 months in the past ten years or since age 16 though if you show that you have lived in a country for a few months less, it is possible that you could also be asked for a police check from that country.

Time to have a visa processed is a bit variable as it will always depend on the number of applications being received and the priority, hence my suggestion of looking at a 176 SMP which could see an application taking about12 months or more and a standard 175 could be out to 18 months, perhaps even two years.
But even those times could change significantly if there were worse things to happen with global economics.
