Pmv & noim help and advice???

Hi All

Ive just joined this forum as i would really appreciate a little help and advice....

Me and my fiance are both uk citizens but my fiance also has his permanent residency as his parents emmigrated to Australia in 2006. We have been together for 4.5 years and are currently in the process of gathering all our evidence to apply for our prospective marriage visa.

My first question is how much evidence is sufficient and what exactly can be used as evidence? we have never lived together on our own as we have lived with both sets of parents in both the uk and australia therefore we do not have joint bills etc, will this be a problem?
What we do have are 3 A4 pages of photos spanning our entire relationship which shows us together in both countries, purchase history for skype from 2009 to present, as i couldnt find any call history! also we have 5 pages of facebook messages from 2008 to present, although they show some of our message content and i am a little unhappy about immigration reading our private messages so could i blank those parts out but still show the date/time message was sent/received? Lastly we have stat decs from 5 family members and friends, is this enough??

My second question is regarding the NOIM. We are intending to marry in an intimate ceremony at Perth registry office in May 2011. My fiance will be booking this when he arrives as he is moving back to australia at the end of the month (november) as he has a job offer. What i dont understand is how we can both sign the form in front of the celebrant if he is there and i am here? does he need to get it signed in front of the celebrant in perth then mail it back to me to sign? im so confused.....

Apologies for the long thread, just want to get the application right first time as to avoid us being apart for too long

Any help and advice would be much appreciated,

Thanks

Welcome stylesista! I know how you feel. It can be very overwhelming putting together that application. My visa was just accepted this past week.

For a PMV you don't need joint bills, but it could help. My fiance and I did not have joint bills as I live in the USA and he is in Australia. I couldn't get my skype messages/calls either. I did call a billion times with my cell phone so I had almost a years worth of phone bills for my application.

I had all of our e-mail messages and facebook messages as well. I know it can be weird having someone read your personal messages, but I did not want to lack any kind of evidence! Of course any really private messages I kept to myself. I don't think it would be wise to blank out the messages. Their job is to make sure you are in a loving and genuine relationship and showing your messages should help prove that!

As for pictures, I only sent 8 pictures of my fiance and I. I did not want to send too many. I read somewhere that you shouldn't send too many. The amount you have sounds good, but on the back write when and where the photo was taken! Five stat decs should be good enough. I had two from great friends of mine and so did my fiance.

As for the NOIM, your celebrant should write up a letter for your application. Granted the celebrant we have is a friend of my fiance. She just needed my information from my birth certificate. He could always mail it to you if the celebrant needs a signature.

http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/_pdf/300-checklist.pdf ---Is the check list. It is super helpful when you put your application together. Feel free to ask any other questions.

Best of luck!

Welcome stylesista!
This whole applying for any kind of visa can be pretty overwhelming. But there is no reason to actually worry. I applied for the same kind of visa 2 weeks ago. Apart from all the forms the Embassy asked, the med. exams and all that I included the following as evidence:
- Photos, 10 in total cause in one application is suggested to send only 10.
- Phone bills, both mine and my fiances'
- Printouts from his FB inbox, cause i have the bad habit of deleting everything after I am done reading it.
- Boarding passes from trips we took together
- Both of us wrote a statement, explaining how, when and where we met and how the relationship evolved.
- A statement from the bank we have a joined account

As for the NOIM, my fiance completed it and he took it to his bishop. The bishop wrote a letter saying that we lodged a NOIM with him, writing our names and the date we indent to get married.

If any of the information above is wrong please feel free to correct me.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask. We can all feel what you feel.

lovedelight! Thank you so much for your quick reply!

Congratulations on you visa!!

I have taken your advice and written under each photo, the location, date & year. Luckily we have both changed alot in the last 4.5yrs so we look very different from when we first met. I have kept most of the fb messages visable but im afraid i did delete the rude parts hehe !!

Just wondered, do some stat decs need to be from australian friends/family?? all ours are from friends and family here in the uk. I could get my fiance to get his family to complete them when he returns and mail them back to me. Do you think if we opened up a joint account now before he goes back that would count as more evidence?? ahhh so stressfull

Thank you!

I would get some stat decs from his family or friends in Australia that have met you. I think it wouldn't hurt to open an account. Yeah it gets very stressfull. Wait until you get ready to move. I'm like OMG!! Trying to gather everything for the move.

ahhhh thankyou so much for your reply after reading your post i feel like we are almost ready to apply Only thing is we do not have phone bills as we are both pay as you go, i hope this doesnt let our application down

how long were your statements? am i right in thinking that you front loaded your application with your meds and police check?

i feel so much better about getting our noim completed, it was confusing me so much! I will get my fiance to complete it with the celebrant in Oz and ask them to write us a letter that i can include in our aplication, ah scary stuff

I would love it if you would keep me informed of your visa process its great having people going through the same thing as us, the help and advice is priceless!

good luck and i hope your visa is granted

xx

I do not know how important the phone logs are. It says that the more evidence you give on the relationship the better. I believe that even with prepaid numbers you can ask from your provider to get you the phone logs. Check that with the company you have the number from.

As for the statements I competed the relationship pro forma the Berlin office has on their site and my fiances' was about 2 pages long. I am going to write one too and I have no idea how long it will be. I'll be happy to let you know after I complete it.

I completed my med check before sending the application and I included the police check with the application. If there is anything more I could help you with I'd be happy too. I just want to make it clear that I am no expert on the subject. I give advice based on what I did and to be honest I am not sure that I followed the right venue at some points. I will let you know about anything new.

Good luck with everything and I hope everything gets processed fast and you get the desired result.
