To be clearer, I don't believe they have the option for a refund. I agree fully with you that that's not fair - but like I said, I imagine most wouldn't want it anyhow, since the majority wouldn't qualify for any other visa type.

Applied: April 2013.
Visa Granted: January 2014.
Visa #2: Subclass 820 (From PMV).
Applied: End of April 2014.
Visa Granted: Early July 2014.
Visa #3: 801 (PR)
Eligibility Date: End of April 2016 (Applied a month prior).
PR Granted: Early April 2017.

OMgoodness, really? up to 7 years?? That is cruel indeed.

BUT the good news is, we got processed mega speedy and got our residency! I have no idea what happened there. Seriously, we expected it to take another 18 months after case officer got assigned. But BAM we got the visa 4 days ago! I still can't believe it.
