could be murdered if sent home.

yesterday i posted and received a great answer so i have another question.
my partner should his visa application be refused and he has to return to pakistan then he would most likley be murdered by his family.
reason being that he started a realtionship with me (A white woman of no religion )and also because he turned his back on islam.
has anyone been throught this before?

If he is not successful in getting a partner visa, another alternative to be considered would be seeking asylum but he would need to be able to substantiate his fears.
You could find that despite the unrest that occurs in different parts of Pakistan Australia may be loathe to recognise that the threat to him is one of persecution that would warrant asylum and it is more one of possible criminal intent that the Pakistani authorities need to handle.
I say that because you can appreciate the pandora's box it opens up as word of policy application can spread rather quickly and there could be a rapid growth in asylum seekers for the same type of reason.
