Skill Occupation list (Eligiblity)

Hello,

I am a Computer Science graduate. I have 3 and half of years experence in two telcom operator and one ISP as IP network engineer. I am CCNA and CCNP.

Can anyone help to decide for which occupation should I apply in the current SOL?

I went through the current SOL(schedule 3) and found that 'Telecommunications network engineer (ANZSCO
code: 263312)' in the list. Is it ok for me as I am not an Electrical and Electronics engineering graduate.

Please respond

Regards
rajan

You may run into difficulties for those classifications are assessed by EA and that usually means that an engineering qualification is to be held, the occupations description under the ASCO code being electronics engineer etc.
The EA do have provision for assessment based on alternate study and/or significant employment experience and you ought to have a look at their web site in that regard and at the very least contact EA to enquire on the situation.
Otherwise you need to see if there is an IT orientated classification on the SOL, A-Z Occupations List - Australian Skills Recognition Information having some descriptive information.

Hi Wanderer,

Thanks a lot for your quick reply.

Yes, you are right. I am bit confused in nominating occupation.

The info you provided was really helpful. Accourding to our suggested link (A-Z Occupations List ), the occupation ''Network Analyst' colsely matches my profile. But it doesn't exist in the SOL. So again confusion is arising.

One more thing. Does EA and ACS responds in such queries of taking decision of Nominating Occupations? What's their contact email address?

Thanks
rajan

If Network Analyst is not on the SOL#3 you could check the various state SMP lists via the 176 visa and if a state has it, then you could apply for state sponsorship.
Otherwise it is not considered as in demand for immigration purposes.
If the EA do not have sufficient information for you on their site, they may have additional advice on contacting them but all assessment organisation sites do generally have an enormous ammount of information to sabe people needlessly contacting them but there are also contact details on their sites.
