Under 16 with VISA

My girlfriend's 15 year old is travelling to Oz in a week for a three week holiday.

We're having masses of problems in getting the VISA. There's contradictory information. There's nothing on form 1229 saying that the mother's passport details need to be in. It does say that ID must be provided and gives a list. It says OR and not AND, so it doesn't directly demand a passport.

However, we're getting a request now for his mothers passport details. She hasn't got one! She's sent all the info in via a public notary.

We'll find out for defo on Monday / Tuesday, but if anyone knows anything now, it would be good to be reassured or at least know what we need to do.

So, has the form 1229 actually been submitted with relevant identification documents.
If that is so and a request has been made for the passport info page it should be as simple as advising a passport does not exist and alternative documentation has been provided as is indicated on Form 1229.
Sometimes using third parties, even a public notary can cause communication gliches.

Cheers. All sorted now. VISA's gone through okay.
