820 Visa Approved?????

Hi All,

I applied for my 820 Partner Visa on Nov.11.10 and was told that my application would go to the Brisbane office and the current processing time was 6 months... This had apparently just changed from 3-5..

I was issued a Bridging Visa A as my existing Working Holiday Visa was to expire on the same day we applied.

I logged onto VEVO a few days after we applied to ensure that I had been issued a bridging visa and this was listed on the summary page with the travel restrictions.

I just logged onto VEVO on the DIAC's website and it now lists that my visa grant date was 07/12/10 and says UK 820 next to Visa Class/Subclass and lists that I am Provisional Resident.. Does this mean my visa has been approved???

I have not heard from the DIAC, been contacted by a Case Officer or received anything in the mail.. nothing...

Help! Dying in anticipation..

Thanks.

Hi,

It seems to me like it has been approved, but there is some delay between them recording the grant electronically and notifying applicants. If you look at the Family visa timeline you will so examples of this where people waited days or weeks for confrimation to reach them. You're dealing with a beauracracy after all, and things have to be done according to procedure. It's only been a day, so give it time.

So, I would either wait for paper or e-mail confirmation, or e-mail them to ask about it.

Congratulations :)

I couldn't bear to wait for something to arrive in the mail, and I didn't get any email correspondence, so I called immigration and just asked them to confirm my visa status. They told me I had an approved 820 visa!

Can't believe they only had my application for 3.5 weeks!

Thanks for the response aussiegirl :)
