Question Project or Program Administrator 189 or 489 visa?

Hi there

I just wondered if anyone has experience of applying on a 189 visa or a 489 visa being a Project or Program Administrator?

My experience in a nutshell: Corporate Receptionist/Client services for 6 months in Melbourne Jan-July 2013

now an office runner/production assistant in current production company since January

I have a degree in Cinema & Photography so if I carry on a bit longer and get 12 months experience in this related to my degree........

would this be classified as a 'similar role' and I could progress onto the project or program administrator as hopefully that would suggest any sort of administrator to a company, or am I stretching this too far and it's meant to be something more specific??

I also have a first cousin who lives in melbourne where I want to work so was looking at the visa 489, but again it looks as if these visas are hardly ever invited, and when they are, do they tend to go to someone alot more skilled and needed?

Just want to know if it would be worth applying or not

I pass the skills test, I would get 80 I think once going to get an evaluation.

I am from UK, 24 female, BA hons degree

ANY help is so appreciated thank you

Have you had a read of the job description? From what you have listed above I wouldn't think you would qualify, but only you know what your job entails (and I don't have a great deal of knowledge in skilled visas):

1220.0 - ANZSCO - Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations, First Edition, Revision 1

Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will come along soon

80 points seems pretty high for someone with only a year's experience. You may want to review this with a migration agent, since over-claiming points on your EOI will result in a visa refusal if your paperwork doesn't back it up.

489 is a regional provisional visa, so it doesn't guarantee you PR status at any point, and you have to work/live in a regional area so Melbourne would be out.

Oh! I thought when it says regional state it says victoria and it says 'everywhere' meaning you could work anywhere in victoria maybe or got that wrong!

Thank you for the advice

i believe you should refer to this table for "regional":

Eligible Postcodes for the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme
