Question How long to get out of the country?

Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about how long you're given (officially) to exit the country if you've applied for a Temporary Spouse Visa Offshore (309). For example, I applied for an Australian Temporary Spouse Visa in the UK. I then flew to Australia to be with my wife. I know that they will contact me when they're about to approve the visa and give me a 'time' to exit Australia so I can re-enter on my new visa. I'm currently here on a 6 month Tourist Visa. I'm thinking about just flying over to Bali or Malaysia but I just wanted to know how long they normally give you. I hope someone has the answer!

Thank you very much

You'll likely get advice something like " your offshore visa granting will need you to leave Australia and so please advise us of your intentions within the next 28 days "
That does not mean you need to leave within 28 days but just make arrangements and advise them of a departure date within 28.
They'll also likely advise that you should allow for five working days from departure for the visa grant to be processed.
