WA Migration, engineer, all qualified but online system rejected me

Hi,

I applied to WA sponsorship for Mechanical Engineer.

Some background information:

1) I have already got the positive skill assessment from Engineers Australia.

2) I have got IELTS test, speaking 7, reading 7, listening 7 and writing 6.5. Overall band 7. The results are within 2 years.

3) Work experience 2 years.

4) Total points excluding sponsorship is 115. Including the sponsorship points is 125.

I filled up all the above information into WA migration website, in order to get the state sponsorship, the system told me that I did not achieve the requirements.

I keep trial and error to see what prevent me from proceed, it seems like my IELTS should be higher than 7, and the work experience must at least 8 years.

But I keep searching in the internet, I think minimum IELTS score is band 6 for all the components (I have achieved that). and the minimum work experience is 12 months out of 24 months ( I have 24 months, I have met the requirements).

Therefore, my question is, do you think it is online system error or did i overlook anything?

New Strategy

Hi Wanderer,

I am now thinking to abondon the 176 Visa for WA migration.

I will be heading towards 175 visa.

I will retake my IELTS to get band 7 for all components, therefore:

age (30) + skill (60) + IELTS (25) + recent work experience at least 12 months (no points) + working in Australia for 12 months (10 points)

Total points = 125.

Am I overlook anything this time?

I am working as the mechanical engineer in WA state for 9 months now. I can wait for another 3 months to get the extra 10 points. is this correct?

Thanks.

If you are working on an employer sponsored 457 have you considered seeing if the employer will sponsor you for PR when you have been with them for two years as that visa application will have a higher priority than the 175 and could take a while for processing.

I don't mind that 175 might take a while to process.

But if I asked the employer to sponsor me, I am afraid that I might be bond by them.

I don't wish to be bond.

Anyway, do you think I am qualified for 175 visa?

If you apply once you have the 12 months Australian experience and have the other eligibility points to give you 125, you'll be past the 120 points required.
You will need to leave Australia when the visa is ready to be granted.
