ACS-Skills Assessment-Employee Reference Question

Hello Gurus,

I am bit worried about the employer reference from my previous employer, so I need help from you experienced people.
By qualification I am Electronics Engineer. I have over six years of IT experience in a company in India. I left that company and now I am in the UK. It is not possible to get reference letter from my company in India. My Managers and other seniors also have left the company. Now I have no one among the seniors in the company who I know.

(PLEASE NOTE THAT, I have experience letter mentioning all the required information as per the ASC standards (Duration, duties in details etc) and also relieving letter, appraisal letters)

In this case, what I have in mind is
1. Write an affidavit explaning why I am not able to issue a fresh reference letter from previous employer
2. One of my Manager who left the company with me, now runs his own IT company. So I can request him to give me a reference letter on the letter head of his company.

BUT, my doubt here is will I have to provide document proof that my manager was working with the same company as I was. If yes, then again I wont be able to provide this proof.

What will be the best approach?

Please suggest me what to do. I am sure somebody must have been in similar situation. I am requesting all readers to suggest me on this please.

Thanks Sanju

Will the Manager from the previous company also not have some reference of his employment there?
If you have an original letter with details of employment from that previous company, that will help and hopefully you ensured at the time it had adequate detail.

Thanks Wanderer for the reply. Do you mean a fresh reference letter is not required if experience letter has all the details? I have this doubt because somewhere on the forum I read guys issuing reference letters from previous employers.
Alos the ACS FAQ mentions reference letters only and not experience letter. SO the confusion.

I think the ACS may use the term reference but will expect that you are able to show some good evidence of your skills and experience you want to use for an assessment.
Do a poor job of it and you'll likely not get a successful assessment.
