457 visa

Hi,
We have applied for 457 visa and still waitng for the nomination to be approved. It has been submitted in february and still not respond at all. As our visas soon gonna end up we are really worrying about this. We have contacted our lawyer several times and all he says is cant do anything , just have wait and see. Please can you let us know why this step takes this much time and is there anything we can do regarding it. Thank you so much.
