english language ability proof

Hi there,

My partner and I are about to apply for a skilled sponsored visa for Victoria, and he will sponsor me as a de facto partner. I consider myself a native speaker of English, but I come from Malta, a country where English is the national language. Since I do not come from one of the countries universally acknowledged as being native English speaking, what sort of proof of language ability do I need to provide? Is it enough if I provide the transcript of my B.A. English and M.A. English university degrees, as well as my high school certificate? All the above had courses taught in English.

Thanks for your help,

Denise

You only need to provide one of what is stated on Skilled – Sponsored (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 176) so if you have more than two years attending University in England, it should be fine.

Hi Wanderer,

I didn't attend university in England, but back in my country. However, as I said, the national language there is English.
