Case officer allocation timelines after July 2010 changes

Hello,

I hope someone here can help me out !

I have filed my applictaion on 27th Aug 2010 & i have not yet been allocated a case officer. My GSM visa class is 175 & the nominated occupation is Electronics engineer.

It been almost 5 months now & iam waiting for a case officer allocation, the last email i recived was after i lodged my application & it had the details of my TRN no & some details.

I am concerned because some of my colleagues who filed their applications before July 2010 were allocated case officers in less than 2 months .!!!

Can some one share their experince on this specially some one who has lodged the applictaion after july 2010.

Looking forward to your support
Thanks for your replies in advance.

Shafqat

It was kind of like a switch being flicked and the priority system may have come more into play for later applications and you need to consider Client Service Charter as a guide but now states have their SMPs in place, there will be prioty #2 applications that will get shuffled to the front.

What about after CO allocated. I guess, the first step they want health and police check documents. After then, do you have any idea how long the process lasts? Is there any difference between high risk and low risk countries? Or only the factor is priority group...

I am checking the thread about the visa timelines. But it has seen that most cases are still open. We can see some results, timelines between first application and CO allocated but no information afterwards. I guess, the members forgot updated the situations. So I have no idea about the visa timelines still. Do you have any idea about this? How long approximately it takes after the health and police check documents wanted? For example, for 176 visa or 175 visa.

Depending on whether a country is classified as HR/LR and what level of security check is required, the time will be much greater, perhaps six months longer for a HR security check required.
Other than that, no point in attempting to take guesses about times that can vary very significantly, no one being able to predict many different factors.

Thanks Wanderer... You are great!!!

Is there any source that we can check these timelines or security check levesls for example;
For HR countries security check timelines between x-y months. Or only the only way for forecast is, make a statistical evaluation with the experiences?

I got it. Thanks.

One more question... I looked at the threads about police check, I guess applicants give a document to DIAC about the police check. Is there any other police check, an additional control apart from these documents? And I guess this process can be take longer time? Am I right

Immi use a Form 80 requested from applicants to have external checks done.
