My advice would be to start by writing down any key dates (ie when you first met, started a relationship, moved in together etc.) and any recollections you have about them and the circumstances in which they occured. That should be a good starting point.
I had similar anxieties when I began writing the statement to sponsor my wfie's visa. The best advice i guess, as with anything, is to just start somewhere. Don't worry too much in the beginning, just start writing and as you think more about it it should start falling together.
This seemed to work for me, however I'm still unsure if what I wrote is exactly what is required, and am yet to lodge my visa. We're still in the final stages of gathering evidence, so I may not be the best person to offer advice.
Good luck!

As Aaron has indicated it is all about outlining your relationship so jot down those key dates and use them as the skeleton and then flesh it out but you do not need to make it a Mills and Boon type submission.
