Is that safe if I lodged my PR(subclass 885) already?

Hello everyone,

I lodged my PR (subclass 885) 2 months ago. The occupation I nominated is accountant. I heard that the SOL will be reviewed sometimes this year. If accountant is removed, or they have something like capping, will my application be affected? For example, I have to wait forever until they change the policy again?

Currently I got an offer in a company, its admin job, but not related to accounting. My friends told me to ignore the offer and keep looking for accounting jobs, in case accounting is removed, I may be able to get my employer(in accounting firm) to sponsor me. However, it appears that it's very very hard to get an accounting job in Australia. Also, the salary level is so low for a junior accountant; I don't think I can find an employer who is willing to pay the basic salary for me and sponsor me. It's really hard, and time consuming.

Should I just take the admin offer and stop seeking accounting job?

The SOL is always up for review from year to year and it'll be the demand for particular occupations that will determine any changes but if you meet eligibility requirements and apply for an independent skilled occupation when it is on the SOL, your application will still be considered regardless of any changes.
The changes you may have heard about for later this year are more in line with accumulation of points not of concern to existing applicants though capping/ceasing of occupations or older applications is also a possibility.

If you have a job offer, why not take it and that will not stop your visa application being in the queue nor you seeking any employer sponsorships.
