Victoria sponsorship ICT Professional

Hi,

I have applied for Victoria state sponsorship for Visa class 176. My applicated was submitted online on Jan 21, 2011. The online application system prompted me that I will recieve the application reference number after two week. However, on Jan 25, I recieved the following message from the Victorian Gov:

"The Victorian Government is currently finalising procedures in obtaining industry feedback for ICT occupations, and unfortunately this has meant a delay in providing you with the outcome of the sponsorship application.

We apologise for this delay and will have a decision for you as soon as possible."

Have anyone faced simillar experience and can advise what does this message mean and what is it's impact on the process?

Thank you

It is probably just a standard message in response to applications for nomination for a particular occupation.
The states may decide to be reviewing occupations on their lists from time to time in respect to supply/demand situation and for instance they may have been getting many applications for IT occupations either from abroad or onshore and together with new Australian graduates, there may be indications that there are far more IT people in the market for jobs than what there are jobs right now.
With that being the case they could decide that a particular occupation is currently unavailable for nomination and they will advise you more on the situation in due course.
