No work condition

I have applied for a partner permanent visa and I currently hold a bridging visa with a "no work" condition. Apparently there are some exceptions to the rule, but I'm not sure what they are. I recently saw a job ad for mystery shoppers, and they said you don't need a work permit to do the job. Would I breach the no work condition if I worked as a mystery shopper?

I also called immigration office in Sydney and was told that online work for overseas companies is ok, because the employer is not Australian or in Australia and the payments don't come from Australia. I'm a bit confused about this, does "no work in Australia" mean no work for Australian employers, or no work whatsoever, or what?

I'd hesitate to believe anything an organisation in Australia suggested re working for them without a permit and the reference by Immi to online work for an overseas organisation is correct and so yes, you have it basically right with

You can apply to have the restriction lifted, essentially on grounds of financial hardship and one poster recently posted re success with that.
