457 Visa and ANZSCO codes 1 - 4

Hey Everyone.

I'm looking to relocate to Oz with my family. We've tried to figure out our visa but nobody seems to be able help.
I'm a fully qualified dental nurse and have been qualified now for 3 years. I've actually been doing dental nursing now for 5 years. My partner works in construction as a scaffolder. Now we've looked on the SOL list and neither of our jobs are listed which means we aren't entitled to a skilled migration visa. I've been told the only other visa I can apply for is something called a temp 457 visa which only lasts 4 years but I have to be sponsored by an employer to get this. I've been told my job needs to be on a ANZSCO list and be between codes 1-4. I haven't a clue what this is? Can anyone shed anymore light on what this is??
Also if my job isn't on the ANZSCO list is there any other type of visa for myself and my family to live and work out in oz?
Any info would be great : )

The occupations list for the 457 is Migration Regulations 1994 - Specification under paragraphs 2.72(10)(aa) and 2.72I(5)(ba) - Occupations for Nominations in Relation to Subclass 457 (Business (Long Stay)) and Subclass 442 (Occupational Trainee) Visas - June 2010 and you find that under the 457 visa nomination eligibility - Temporary Business (Long Stay) - Standard Business Sponsorship (Subclass 457)
Unfortunately, no Dental Nurse nor Scaffolder there and you would need to consider whether it's possible for you to upgrade to one og the other dental occupations on the list and shown on http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/a-z.htm#d or your partner looks at some alternative training.
One option you may want to consider for further training is to look at courses in Australia, some expense involved but you can work for 20 hours/week and a partner is also allowed to work for 20 hours/week.

Hi,

Unfortunately Dental nurse is still not on the SOL list, so what Wanderer said still applies:
Unfortunately, no Dental Nurse nor Scaffolder there and you would need to consider whether it's possible for you to upgrade to one og the other dental occupations on the list and shown on A-Z Occupations List - Australian Skills Recognition Information or your partner looks at some alternative training.
(on that link you'll see the dental-related occupations that are eligible for visas)

I don't know what you mean about accomodation being covered...if you get a working visa to come to Australia you are a permanent resident and can live/work wherever you want but you have to fend for yourself.
You might want to see which dental occupation you might be able to be qualified in, then get work experience, in order to meet the requirements of the 175 visa:
Skilled – Independent (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 175)
