India Police clearance and Passport

Hi everyone,

My husband and I both hold indian passports and hence we need to get our Indian Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)before applying for the 189 skilled independent visa. My husbands passport expires in March 2015. We have just submitted our documents to ACS for skills assessment. My question is : if we get our PCC now (leadtime of 4-8 weeks) and hoping that we would hear back from ACS also within the next 8-10 weeks, we would have the PCC and skills assessment done before submitting EOI. Now after submitting EOI, if we submit my husband's passport for renewal ( around Nov 2014), should i get a PCC again for him?? Is the PCC from India linked to your passport ? or if we get it once, it means he has no records with the Indian Police.. Kindly clarify.
Also my understanding is as far as DIAC is concerned at any point if we renew our passport after submitting EOI, we can update the new passport details. Kindly correct me if i am wrong.

Thanks in advance for your time. Looking forward to your responses and advice.

Regards,
Janani

I will wait till I get invited to apply before applying for PCC. PCC in India is linked to the passport, it references the passport number in the letter. But if you get a new passport, it should not be too hard to convince immi to accept the PCC linked to the old passport (if PCC is less than 12 months old). But given the relative ease with which the PCCs are obtained in India, I will personally not try to convince immi and rather get a new PCC for the new passport.

Hi Lincsus,

Thanks for your response. I am still new to the process and trying to do my research and understand the whole flow . But correct me if am wrong - while submitting EOI , we need police clearance from all countries where you have lived for more than 1 year rt? I am under the impression that for EOI i will need skills assessment letter from ACS, FBI clearance for me and my husband(since we lived in the U.S for more than a year) and India PCC and IELTS score report. Hence my earlier question about getting PCC from India.

thanks

PCC India Clarity

Hello folks,

Need some clarity on PCC from India

I work in City A for last 5 years but do not have any address proof as I never needed it till now.
My permanent address is of city B. For that I have all the address proofs.
My passport has been made from city C.
I am thinking that I should go to PSK (passport seva kendra) for city B as I have all the proofs there but I think I should not mention that I work/live currently in city A as I might be asked for proofs which I do not have. That should work but then I have never seen what a PCC looks like and if it mentions addresses on it then I will have some problem as my correspondence/current address mentioned in the application is of city A.

Will that be an issue?
Please guide me.
