timescales/DIAC

Hi Everyone

I'm a new user of your site, and I've got a wealth of information from this site over the last few months, so thank you to everyone who post's here. I wanted to start my own thread in the hope of helping others and myself

we applied to SA for state sponsorship 176 under occupation of social worker on the 02/12/10 scored 130 points on visa with IELTS score overall of 8.5
doc's received by them on the 16/12/10
application approved on the 20/01/11

applied to DIAC on the 25/01/11
form 1100 requested and sent to DIAC by state on the 27/01/11

ok so here's the question's...

1, Am I right in saying there a 12 month wait for my visa to be approved by DIAC?

2, was there any point to doing the IELTS test, would my visa be approved any faster?

3, I am uploading my qualifications on the DIAC web site, do I only upload my degree certificate or do I need to upload everything that makes up the degree plus the certificate as I've already had to prove this to the assessing body and the state?

4, and finally is there anything I can do at the moment to help things along or be ready for... sorry I'm not very good at waiting as I'm sure everyone is

As for wait and processing time - http://www.australiaforum.com/visas-...-857-visa.html
Without the IELTS, unless you were from an english speaking country your application would not even get to acceptance stage.
Just like you do with a paper application, I imagine the online form will show what is required and that will as far as qualifcations are concerned be your degree as translated if necessary and your assessment notice.
Someone posted recently that there is also an online Checklist similar to the Checklist provided in the applying section for a paper application.
4. Make good use of reading all information to do with your eligibility and applying, including all links so you understand it all clearly and to enhance the possibility of a fully complete and accurate application.
