Question 820 approved !!!!

Finally my PMV to 820 has been approved...we applied onshore on December 23,2012 and was just approved today...felt like it was taking forever! My question now is what happens next?

Congratulations!

Great news at last. It sure look a long time. I expect DIBP will contact you before your 801 eligibility date on 23 December this year. We are not at that stage yet, but there is the specific 801 waiting room and other helpful threads where you can get good info... cheers & take care...

DIBP is the Department of Immigration and Border Protection. This is the new name for the immigration department. I am not a professional migration expert but I understand that the two year period begins on the date you applied for your 820 visa. That is why I believe you are eligible for the 801 in December. Maybe others can help if I am not correct in your cade. Cheers...

It's two years from the date you applied for the 820. In your first post you said 23 December 2012 so Dinkum replied with 2014, but I'm guessing that, based on your other posts, this was a mistake and you actually applied for your 820 on 23 December 2013.

In that case, your eligibility date for 801 is 23 December 2015, and you will be contacted by DIBP a couple of months before this (say, September/October 2015) with the information you need to fill in for this part. Make sure you keep your contact information current with DIBP, they will need a current address for you at this point in time.

DIBP: Department of Immigration and Border Protection i.e. government department that handles visas.

Since your 820 is approved you don't need to get your police check until you apply for your 801. It doesn't take long to come so you could apply late November for it.

Congratulations on the visa grant!!!! DIBP will notify you 2 months before you complete your 2 years since you applied for the subclass 820.

I recently got an email from DIBP about my subclass 100. Exciting days ahead
Good Luck for the application in the near future and time to celebrate the one you just got approved! Woohoo!

Kind Regards,
Becky
