Form 47 Question - Countries Visited

Hi All,

I was just having a look over the 47 form and there is a section regarding countries visited over the past 10 years. My boyfriend has done EXTENSIVE travel over the last 10 years and is concerned he will have problems identifying exact dates of trips. How do they check travel dates and is this something we need to be accurate with in terms of dates?

Thanks

Exact dates are not necessary and with some thought he ought to be as accurate as possible by month/year.

Stamps are fine for info where they are still used or in current passport but there are a lot of countries where just scanning of passports occurs rather than stamping so as I say, general times are OK.

So long as he can at least identify the country and year. He will most likely be asked to provide a police check for each country he has been to.

Two different things
1. You list countries visited.
2. You only need to supply police clearances for countries in which longer than 12 months has been spent.
Lets not confuse the situation please!

Thank you for all of your replies.
Stamps are few are far between in his passport because the majority of travel we have done has been around Europe. If you are on a EU passport, you generally don't get stamps.

He should be able to recall the trips he has been on by month and year, but I think actual days might be a little harder.

Thanks for the info regarding police checks. He has lived in both South Africa and the UK. We are in the process of organising his SA police check now!

True but as in our case they can also request a check for a country you have spent less than twelve months in.

Immi can always ask for something beyond what the regulations state but the post was not about getting police clearances!
