Smile 886 visas advise

Hi Wanderer,
You seem to be not only very informative but also very helpful. Mate could you please guide regarding:
Does using agents for PR applications help expedite decisions.
Is there anything as Decision ready checklist.

I had applied for PR 886 class in July 2010. My friend who was a single, applied for 885. He got his case approved in 3 months whereas I am still waiting.
I do fulfill all the point test with 135 points (8 in IELTS each module, Masters in Accounting, with a sponsorship from blood relative)

Also does sponsorship delay applications.. or it may be because mine is a family case( I being the primary applicant with my spouse and 2 children)

Looking forward to you kind advise and thanking you in anticipation.

There was what may have been a unique DRA situation develop for a period last year where apparently Immi was using Immigration Agents registered with the MIA to on application function as defacto COs much as it is accepted that registered Accountants are recognised in regard to taxation returns.

It was a bit odd for depending on who was contacted within Immi there would be a different level of knowledge on it, some people even having no knowledge of it at all and so I assume it was something of a trial that may have been brought on because of the backlog of applications that had built up whilst changes were being introduced throughout last year.

But other than that exercise, agents have no role in having your application processed quicker other than a good agent will ensure an application is complete and accurate, not all agents necessarily good and in fact whilst some could be described as less than good, a competent person should not have great difficulty in getting an application up to the required standard.

If you now were applying for a state sponsorship that increases the priority of an application but with family sponsorship and an occupation on the SOL#3 , you'll like all other 175 and 176 family sponsored applications with an occupation on SOL#3 have the same priority and it can then be other factors as mentioned on Client Service Charter that can determine what the wait time is and in some cases it could also be luck of the draw as for example some new COs come into a section and so they may start off with a new slate of applications and initially have some going through the system quicker until their workload as in number of cases on the go builds up to the same level as the section standard.
