Deadline to submit outstanding documents?

Hi I have lodged my onshore application for Partner Visa in December 2010. I had some documents that I did not have at that time such as Medical results, Overseas Police Clearance Certificate and 2 Supporting Witness Forms.

It's February now and I have only gotten my Medical results and still waiting on the rest.

I am just worried if there is a deadline to submit outstanding documents. I am not aware of any (in the acknowledgement letter, it just says I need to provide them but did not mention by when) but if there is, I guess I better try and chase up on them so it won't affect the overall application too much.

Please do let me know if you know of any exact deadline to submit oustanding documents (such as 2 months from the acknowledgement date for example?) Thanks for your time!

Michel

You are supposed to submit a complete application other than the medical and police checks which can be requested later.
A notice of acceptance of a visa application will usually go out within a few weeks of application and that may show against some documents such as the medical - the words outstanding or to be supplied.
That is just a status notation and not an actual request to supply anything for that will come when you have a CO contact you.
As to other things like additional statements, they should have been with the application and it'll be up to Immi whether they will be accepted.

Hi Wanderer, thanks for your reply!

What happened was I was here in aust on a tourist visa and by the time I was to lodge my application, it was almost to the end of my tourist visa so I was told to send in whatever I had first (while Im still legal). Hence, my application was incomplete in that sense.

I received an acknowledgement of my application within a week but now im just worried as to when I have to supply the other documents that I was lacking when I first sent the application in. I will send them in as soon as I can of course but was just wondering if there was a specific deadline and if I should start seriously chasing up on the documents. Thanks for your reply!

Have a read of the applying section of the visa and it'll indicate there what is to be provided and re the medical and character requirements, it usually says something like provide them at the time of application if done.
When a CO requests those type of documents you usually have 28 days nominated to provide them but many penal certificates can take 2 - 3 months to get and so you just advise of that if you've not already got them on the way.
