Skilled-Sponsored Migrant Visa Subclass 176

Hi, My name is Judy and have some questions about Subclass 176 visa. I am working here in Kuwait as an optical mechanic/optical dispenser for 5years now. I would like to know if am a good candidate for this type of visa. My job is listed under SOL with ANZSCO code 39914 and 39913 respectively. And I have an eligible sponsor (my uncle) who is willing to sponsor me in support of this visa. But I have some issues that may lead to the disapproval of my application:
1.) this occupation does not fall in line with my education (i have a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering)
2.) I cant show any certificates for my formal training as I had only informal trainings combined with experience in the company that I've worked in the past 7years. But I can get a work certificate from my present employer.

Please send me your thoughts about this. Would really appreciate all the help i can get from here

Thank you.

It's certainly a different career direction for someone who has trained in computer engineering but in having a look @ Optical Mechanic - 399914 you'll se reference to practical experience being take in leiu of your training for assessment, your engineering qualification possibly also taken into account and a clearly stated company experience outling some structure to attaining your experience will not hurt.

Getting an assessment is the first thing anyway and then you can put your engineering qualification and work training statement up as what was considered for assessment if successful and having sufficient experience will not be an issue.

@Wanderer...thank you for reply to my post. Regarding my education (Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering) I was very unfortunate not to have any work experience in that field. I helped our family business right after I graduated which was not in line with engineering. Anyhow, being an optical mechanic is my current job and would like to apply for a subclass176 visa as a skilled worker. Can you pls tell me where I can get my assessment?

@Wanderer..as I've been doing some research on my job as an OPTICAL MECHANIC, I found a link that it requires a AQF III certificate or higher certification.Registration and licensing is also required. What is the equivalent for AQF III? As I have only acquired my skills through experience working on the field for 5years. And here in Kuwait, I dont think that we need a license to become an optical mechanic. Can u pls shed a light on this matter?

Thank You

Subclass 175 or Subclass 176

Hello Guys,
My name is kris (from India)and I am new to this community. Thanks to all the people who take their time to read and clarify other's doubts.

Coming to the point...

I want to apply for a PR and I am not sure which is the best Visa should I apply for Subclass 175 - Skilled Independent or Subclass 176 Skilled Sponsored. My sister is living in Australia and she is a PR holder.

For class 175, I understand you need 120 points.. I took the IELTS exam recently and i got 7 in 3 modules and 6.5 in one... Which has resulted my overall PR points at 115 (not eligible). However, I checked for the skilled sponsored visa requirements (subclass 176) For that U need 100 points which makes me eligible...

What my question is....
1. Which is the best Visa to apply for... 175 or 176?
2. What would be the total process time if I apply for Visa 176 ?

Would be great if someone could help me !

Regards
Kris...

Re: Subclass 175 or Subclass 176

My name is Deepak Kandpal from Bangalore, India.

You should apply for Visa Subclass 176 as you have your sister already there. Can your sister sponsor me too?

It also happened for me that I got 7.0 in 2 modules and 6.5 in 2 modules so I have to reappear IELTS again to continue the process for Visa Subclass 175. It took 7 months for the application to be assigned to a Case Officer in my case.

The processing time remains the same in both classes!

Attestation of copies - Kuwait

Hi Guys,

I am applying for 176 subclass visa from Kuwait. Currently I will be sending my documents to Engineers Australia for assessment.

I would like to know any of you guys have got attestation/certification of the copies of your original documents done in Kuwait? If yes, then from where. I am unable to locate any notary service.

Hi Blacknight,

You need to get the copies of your original documents attested by visiting a lawyer who will get it notarized from the local judge who sits in the sessions court.

What's your fullname? In Kuwait, do you have any government agencies like High Court, Police Commissioner, Passport Office etc. These Officers can notarize your documents to be submitted as true copies of the original document.
