Possible teacher. Do i need X ray of chest for work holiday VISA

Hello again to everyone. I appreciate the responses ive received on my other two threads. Great help you've all been.

So a great many Mahalos to all of you for that.

Next question is this. I was informed by one of the super mods on this site that the medical exam only lasts for 1 year and that if I planned to enter towards sep of 2011 and seek employment within a school Jan 2012 (start of school year) it may be advisable to wait for the exam. I went to complete the online application for the 462 work/holiday VISA and entered in a YES for :

Do you intend to work, or be a trainee, at a child care center (including preschools and creches) while in Australia?

If I click yes, the application says i need a chest x ray, if i click no I dont.
I intend to work with children in one form or another when I enter QLD. Would it be advisable to not mention the childcare portion or do so and receive the chest xray?
Hypothetical scenario: I receive medical exam including xray by this February, its submitted. Only lasts a year. I move to QLD in SEP2011 and acquire a position working with children. Would i need to have a second exam done in Feb of 2012?

Would i be able to submit the VISA app today and schedule the medical exam at a later date? Or would the VISA app process be held up awaiting results of the med exam? The med exam is not much of an issue minus the cost and long distance i have to travel to get it done (6 hours drive). I just dont want to have to pay twice, once here in the U.S. and once in Oz for two exams because they only last 1 year. As well i dont want to bog down the app process for the VISA.

Can someone send me or post a lovely photo of up north Cairns area, perhaps a beach, ocean or tropical foilage shot to help me through this cold winter here. Oh I miss Hawaii very much, and am excited to contribute to and experience QLD. Thank you all.
-Shane

well the question was more so in context of, mention it on the visa application now and have to submit the the medical exam as well now which with its 1 year life span will serve little purpose for when i actually plan on teaching. The question was also in reference to the fact that the med exam does not go with the VISA application and rather they await the results, id probably bet the med exam, results and shipping would be quicker than they review the app for the visa.
It was not a question of "should I lie" and "sneak" in, rather one that poses, should I attempt the exam now, or would it be better to wait? Will the VISA have a lable or notification on it saying that I am permitted or denied the ability or opportunity to work with children?
I hope this makes the question easier to understand.
Thanks again.

First of all, the 462s are not taking a hell of a long time to be processed so for an entry proposed in September, you could leave an application for quite some time yet, even with getting a medical done.
You could make some enquiries of your local approved medical people and see how long the wait for an examination is and with Xray included, I'd be surprised whether it'll be all of much more than a couple of weeks and another to have the results sent.
You're better to plan on doing things the right way.

Sounds good, thanks for the advice.

, I mean within a week, even a few days some posters have found.
You could alternately look at not declaring the teaching with a view to doing it in Australia once you have employment imminent, costs here probably a fair bit cheaper too.
Cairns btw has limited beachfront as in sand and you need to travel out to what they call the Northern Beaches area, there being four or five and Yorkeys Knob, Ellis Beach, Palm Cove come to mind and the drive up to Port Douglas a great coastal drive and Port Douglas is on something of a promontary.
It'll all be a huge difference to what you would find in Hawaii I expect, with no surf beaches because of the Great Barrier Reef and last surf is about 1200 km. south.
The commercial development compared to Hawaii is also miniscule.
Port Douglas - Google Search

And then you can get the occasional cyclone and without them, still a very humid time of year from about December to May, probably worse than Hawaii as it's closer to equator and less sea breeze cooling.
But you guys are getting another ripper cold blow it seems and they have been getting more regular the past few years too, maybe that new Ice Age around the corner, 2012 and all!
Anyway, stay safe if in a blizzard or wherever.
