Expired PR-- Planning to return to AUS--What options do I have

This is Sri and currently I am living in USA. I got my Australian residency in 2002 and it has expired in 2007. I left Australia in 2004 for some compelling reasons and could not go back to Australia. My PR expired in 2007. I want to settle down in Australia. What options do I have. I have a couple of questions
Suggestions/Opinions are highly appreciated.
Am I eligible to get a Resident Return Visa now?
Do I need to apply for a PR again? Can some one please suggest me with the options that I have.

I would be surprised given your situation if you were at this stage granted a Resident Return Visa as you have abandoned your residency some seven years ago and lost your residency status.

You will probably need to consider applying again for a PR visa.
