Exclamation No CO Assigned Yet - Application Lodged Sep 2010

Hi Wanderer,

As you are the expert here, can you please tell me if its normal that I haven't been assigned a CO yet for my online application lodged on mid Sept 2010 from Dubai (I'm a Pakistani national, resident of Dubai)?

I had applied for 176 Skilled Sponsored (Class VE, subclass 176) with all (except medical & police) documents scanned & submitted online including ACS assessment.

Your feedback will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

hi
i have applied from UAE at early august 2010 176 SS and was just requested to submit the medicals,
as far as i know, they are now considering state sponsored applicants as high priority but not family sponsor.
hopefully you will get notified soon.
cheers,
Kogy

You can apply yourself via the NSW state site info you'll find via the 176 visa eligibility section.

First step is to see if you have an occupation on a state migration plan and have a read of http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...statmig-fs.pdf and the corresponding SMP for whilst there is mentioned existing applications will be given priority if their occupation is on a SMP, that reference may be for existing applications that had state sponsorship which would seem logical and it could be you will need to make a new application if not having had a state sponsorship previously and wanting to use a state SMP nomination.
You should be able to have that confirmed with an enquiry to Immi, there being provision under the Contact heading.

Is only difference between 176 and 175; the allocation time to CO. I mean 176 visas usually assign a CO before 175. But is this the following process same, or 176 visas will continue faster? Do you have any idea?

The same sort of checks will occur with a 176 as for a 175 though any 176 SMP visas will always be in the processing queue ahead of a 175 and even if a new 176 application comes in it will mpove ahead of a 175.
On the other hand, there is also going to be the time to get a state sponsorship.

So as I understood for 176 visa checks (esp security clearences) will be faster in process compared with 175?

The specific checks themselves will not be any different nor quicker and it is only that on a 176 visa the higher processing priority could see a check initiated before that of a 175 visa.
