Government sponsored student visa

Hi all, I wander if anyone is able to help me. I was on a government sponsored student visa, now that I am done, I tried to apply for a Skilled Graduates (485) however was today informed that if I was government sponsored student, I do no qualify for this 485. am I able to apply for a further student visa or will I not qualify for that either? If so, do I have to go off shore for it or can I apply on shore? I'm running out of time. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I'm not aware of the details of your government sponsored student visa but you should check the conditions that apply to it and whether there are any restrictions such as a No Further Stay condition re allowance to apply for further visas onshore.

There are no NFS conditions. Even if there were, would I be eligible to apply for another student Visa so long as it is off shore? Seeing as though there aren't any of the NFS conditions, but I was still a government sponsored student, I wander if would qualify for a student visa if I don't qualify for a 485 unless I provide a letter from my government. Would I need to do that for a student visa as well?

If there was a NFS condition, you would not be allowed to apply for any further visa onshore and it'd seem there must be some conditions that you cannot apply.
But if you'll meet the student visa requirements, you could consider applying from offshore, but do carefully review all your eligibility requirements.
