Family Sponsorship Visa - HELP?

Hi all,

I'm now a Citizen, originally from Ireland and I'm trying to get my brother to come out for a while. We have 2 young kids and their uncle really wants to spend a bit of time getting to know them and also having a real go at life in Aus.

He's over 30 so can't get a working holiday, doesn't have a degree, yet he's been working in advertising for a few years so probably wouldn't get skilled migration as "Sales" isn't a desired skill.

I could have a permanent job for him in an instant, provided he has a visa as my current employer doesn't sponsor. His skills would be highly desirable in our business though and he'd do very well.

Myself and the wife are willing to be his sponsor and ensure he has accommodation and financial assistance, should he need it but I can't see a visa that qualifies us to be his sponsor.

Has anyone been in a similar situation in the past and if so, can you advise on anything I can do?

Thanks

Short of you being his only family and a remaining relative visa applicable, about all he can do is to apply for a tourist visa and if he gets an ETA from a travel agent that will have a No Further Stay condition onit though it seems some people applying online for the eVisa do of late get issued with a visa with identical conditions to the ETA though that cannot be guaranteed.
If he is here on a visa with no No Further Stay condition, at least that will give him a chance to see if there are some companies about that could be interested in sponsoring him.
Do you have a network of contacts that you can start doing some groundwork with for him.
He could also take a trip over to NZ and see what opportunities re sponsorship may be about over there and easy enough then to regularly trip back and forth and if he eventually gets NZ citizenship, he can live and work here.

Thanks mate, I thought that was the case. I'll have to look into sponsorship by a business as he wouldn't want to go to NZ. The idea is for him to spend time with us.

Thanks for the reply, onwards and upwards!
