Need urgent advise on my current situation

Hi y'all,

I bet Wanderer would be the best person to advise and to comment but anyone else is free to do so.

Here's the story:-

Somewhere in early November I wanted to get a place to sit for an IELTS exam in December but I was caught off guard(my fault) and it was jammed pack everywhere therefore I was only able to get a place on 15th January 2011.

Now push forward to January, as you all know, the major flood occurred in Brisbane and my test centre ie University of Queensland was affected and therefore the exam date was pushed forward to 22nd of January.

This is where sh*t happens. I was about to submit my job ready program last week, on the last section where Im suppose to retrieve a payment receipt number, my internet browser crashed...Without the payment receipt number I cannot proceed with the online application.

I called up TRA and informed them of my unfortunate situation and they've told me to fax them a letter with the content they require. I called up again later that day and they said to return to them in 2 days. Its 3 days now and will call them after their lunch break.

Now what worries me is the turnaround time for my job ready program application. It is stated on their site that it takes within 30 working days(!!) to process and they will provide a letter stating the outcome of the application. The letter(a positive one of course) will be used to apply for a 485 visa.

My 572 visa is gonna expire somewhere in the middle of March. I cant go on living here for a week or two with an expired visa ?

What should I do?

Any suggestion is much appreciated.

Thank you

I suppose if the Job Ready Program is part of getting your TRA assessment, having applied with that may see you complying with the skills assessment requirement for the 485 - Skilled – Graduate (Temporary) visa (subclass 485)

If you can get your 485 application in, otherwise complete, that should I imagine mean you'll be issued with a BVA which should have the working rights as your 572 has so you'll be able to look for work to fulfill your Job Ready Program requirements and proceed with the full TRA assessment.
You can read about that under the applying section of the 485.

So the things you need to do is keep following up with TRA re receipt of the JRP application and get your IELTS results.
If you're going to run out of time for either, you ought to go in and see Immi to see if they can make an interim grant of a BVC or whatever.
