There's a very useful website that correlates the information from the relevant state occupation lists into a searchable format so you don't have to look at all the separate lists: ANZSCOsearch | Occupation eligibility Australia Skilled Visa

It's free to use and I think the person who designed it came from this forum. They update it regularly but of course just make sure you visit the official state government website to confirm the information.

All the best,

Isn't it just. My company used to pay 40 a month for a subscription service which provided a similar function but with less information, now we don't have to. Very handy website.

Absolutely Adam. That's the power of internet. Valuable info available right where you are and when you want :-)
Further, best part is I can see my occupation (Telecommunicatiins Network Engineer) in high demand - skill level 1 for South Australia :-D
Further, I would like to know that my current employer in India has an office in Adelaide, Australia so will it be a good idea to ask my current employer to transfer me to their office in Adelaide if at all i get a PR Visa for South Australia. Will that meet the state sponsored VISA requirement?

A job offer would strengthen your case with SA, but It won't be necessary for the application and once you get the 190 visa you can work wherever you want anyway. So it's completely up to you if you want to ask them to employ you in the Adelaide office.

Did you note the stipulation for 6.5 in all bands of the IELTS for your occupation?

Thats nice. Yes, I read that I can work anywhere in SA once granted SA Visa but just to avoid the hassle of finding a job in a new country initially when you are totally new to that place, I just wondered that this option can be helpful if all goes well and my employer transfers me there :-)
Oh yes, I am aware that I need to have 6.5 bands in each of the modules in IELTS.
Thank You so much again Adam for your valuable info on this subject 😊

Even I was not aware of it and like Pankaj I would have also gone with Any State option. So, please advice if one should have a knowledge of the state having ones occupation and then go with that state? Can you advise which states have Telecommunications Network Engineer in demand?
I just heard that SA occupation list is out for 2014 and this occupation is in high demand there. Is it true? Shall I go ahead with this state in this case?
Hi Vishesh,

The idea behind selecting 'Any State' is to have an option of keeping another State sponsorship open for your occupation just in case it fills up/closes in the state you wished for.
Please don't take this option as a mistake, it is only for you to keep your choices wide.

Guys, just got a positive skills assessment from EA. Have made EOI and made sure to keep the state choices to SA (and not 'Any') where my occupation is in medium demand right now. Waiting for a positive outcome. Fingers crossed.
Thanks for all your support :-)
