WA State sponsorship

Hi there !

I had submitted my EOI on 19th June 2014 applying for PR 190 visa.

IELTS & skill assessment already done, but haven't got any reply or intimation from any state till now.

Can someone suggest if there needs to something checked ?

Your inputs appreciated .

Thanks

Hi Pankajm

When you lodge your EOI you are required to tick a box regarding which State you would like to live it. That is the State that will check your EoI and decide if they would like to sponsor you. You may have to lodge an EoI for each State.

What occupation are you applying under?

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for your reply.

My EOI status shows 'Submitted' on Skillselect. I have selected 'Any State' in that option, I hope WA will have access to it.

I am applying for HR Adviser 223111 and have IELTS score of 7 and above all sections.

Please suggest.

I believe WA have suspended the majority of their state sponsorships pending a review, should be completed shortly.

Also worth noting that certain states ask specifically that you only tick the box for their state and not 'any state'.

Thanks Adam.

Could you also answer: what if we are able to produce a major amount of funds with evidence and the remaining can be given as an assurance to be arranged and shown later at the time of arrival, especially in case of NT ?

Please let me know your views.

Regards

Actually I just had a look at WA and your occupation is one of the few that is not suspended, but it's currently on schedule 2 which means you must have an offer of employment in WA in the nominated or closely related occupation, so still may not be an option.

NT would take into account support networks you have in the NT when assessing whether you meet the required asset amount. Remember it's assets they look at, it doesn't necessarily have to be readily available cash in a bank account.

Yes that's right, however WA says an offer of employment may be required post getting an invite and before lodging your Visa. So in that case I may expect to get an invite.

Is there a provision for giving a statutory assurance for arranging those little short funds in a defined time, does that work ?

Hi,

You can apply for sponsorship from the Norther Territory Government before receiving a request from the department in Darwin. They will not necessarily invite you directly from the EOI. Some States/Territories will invite you from your EoI. NT may, but they will also accept your request for sponsorship.

Regards Jerry

You're right that they do invite schedule 2 occupations without evidence of the employment offer, but what you have to be careful of is that if you accept their invitation you won't be given too much time to supply one during the application to them. Last time I was involved in the same process they gave 28 days.

I'm not sure if that would or wouldn't work with NT. These critieria and requirements don't have any legislative basis or policy behind them. The states have free reign to pretty much ask for whatever they want and the information on their website is all anyone has to go on. I would suggest emailing them the question to see if they would clarify it for you before applying.

Hello Adam, thats quite a lot of useful info I am seeing in this post here. I am also applying under state nomination 190 for Telecommunications Network Engineer but above point of selecting a particular state at the time of filing EOI is really an eye opener. Even I was not aware of it and like Pankaj I would have also gone with Any State option. So, please advice if one should have a knowledge of the state having ones occupation and then go with that state? Can you advise which states have Telecommunications Network Engineer in demand?
I just heard that SA occupation list is out for 2014 and this occupation is in high demand there. Is it true? Shall I go ahead with this state in this case?
