return air ticket

i have just gotten ma tourist visa granted
am planning to stay much longer in Australian, and still apply for a Partner visa.
just wondering if i can buy a one ticket to Australia. someone told me that i need a return ticket to get through immigration at d airport. i do need more clarification on this please.

There is no mandatory requirement for a return air ticket to be held but on a tourist visa you could be questioned re your intent and complications could arise, some as I've mentioned on
